I down loaded a program but did not install it. Now I
cannot find where that download is. How do I get to
DOWNLOAD MANAGER?

There is no "Download Manager" component in XP. If you know the file type
or the name of the file you downloaded, try clicking Search on the toolbar
in Windows Explorer and doing a search for the file.

Hi

You can perhaps find which folder the program was downloaded to via the Registry - but:

****Please don't alter anything in the Registry, just take a note of the location of the folder****. If you are not sure about opening the Registry, please see if there is someone locally who will help you.

Open the Registry Editor - Start>Run - then type in "regedit" without the quotes. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

and have a look in the right hand pane for 'Download Directory' - make a note of the path, close the Registry, open Windows Explorer and see if the downloaded program is in that folder.

Where did you download it from? [I know, it should be "From
where did you download it?"]
Start the download again and the odds are it will pop-up a
window saying the file already exists. Note where it is and
cancel the download.
If you want a good, free download manager,
I like Fresh Download free from http://www.freshdevices.com/

I always make a folder on my E: partition labeled
"Downloads" and then I create sub-folders for different
uses. I have McAfee, Microsoft, Adobe sub-folders. Makes
finding files later easy.

It might help in the future if you create a folder and
put all of your downloads there.
