How do I find & uninstall a certain Windows Update?

I am trying to find the update I did earlier in the week that changed my
desktop. When I log on to the computer, instead of just going to my desktop
and showing my icons, I first get a log on screen that is split down the
middle. The left side says Welcome to Windows or something and the right
side has my name on it which I have to click on in order to get to my icons.
I don't see why this extra step is necessary and would like to go back to
the old way. Unfortunately, I also did about 4 other updates at the same
time and now I can't find the one to fix this. I went in to View
Installation History and wrote down the numbers of the updates I installed
that night. I then went into My Computer, Add/Remove Programs and looked
for those numbers. I was able to find 3 of them but they didn't look like
the correct ones. Two of them I couldn't find in the list of installed
programs. Does anyone know if I really need this update and how to get rid
of it if it isn't that important? Also, would this be the same thing that
is causing my computer to return to that screen after it detects no activity
after just a few short minutes? It would take too long to explain why, but
I really do not want to do a system restore if I can avoid it in this case.

I don't use this board very often but when I do, you all have been great. I
have always gotten better help here than from any HP or Microsoft
professional support tech. TIA

Hi,

Was one of the updates the .net framework? It would cause this as it adds
another user account.

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.
