How Do I find out what my server is ex: POP3 etc

I go to use my email and it asks me for my name then the email address I
want but then it asks me what type of server I have and I have no idea of
how to find that can someone help me? thank you very much

Your ISP is the proper source. ISP = Internet Service Provider. They will
also assign your username and password.
 
The most common is a POP3 server.

The server name is specific to the ISP, though. You can give them a call and
they will straighten it all up.
 
The answer was already below. Ask your ISP or consult their website.
