How do I find out how much memory is available?

My friend runs "Malware Medic", and he has been helping me
with a couple of pc problems. We are making lots of good progress.

After we cleaned up things using HJT, AVG Anti-Spyware, and Super
Anti-Spyware, we went on to look at a memory dump problem. He asked me
to do a RAM stability test. I downloaded the test software, but I am
not sure how to check my available memory. Is it the numbers that I
found in the Windows Task Manager under the Performance tab?

Here is what I found there:

Physical Memory
Total 1048048 K

Available 690788 K

System Cache 512528 K

If you want to read all about the problem and TS procedure, then go to

http://malwaremedic.suddenlaunch3.c...ndAnnouncements&action=display&num=1166808212

I would normally just wait for him to get back to me, but he's asleep,
and this test should run for at least a few hours, so I wanted to see
if I could get a jump on it. He wants me to test 50 percent of the
available memory, which looks to be about 350MB.

Am I correct?

You should run memtest86 instead.
