how do i find "Dskchk" i have an unreadable file and
can't get rid of it and can't find the program it says to
use on my toolbar please assist and give a rookie a hand

CHKDSK:

In My Computer: Right click Local Drive C>Properties>Tools>Error
Checking>Check Both Boxes>Start>Prompt to restart>Click Yes.

Can be accessed in Start>Run>type in CHKDSK, but is not as thorough scan.
 
actually, you can do any type of checkdisk scan. Goto Run and type cmd to
open up a dos window. Now type chkdsk /? and you will get all the switches
for chkdsk.

chkdsk /r /f does a full scan with repair, same as checking both boxes in
the gui.
If youre an old dos dog like me, you will find this more efficient and more
fun. :-)
