How do I find a Frontpage compatible host?

I'm finally digging out my Frontpage 2002 to learn and build a website. How
do I go about finding and choosing a host? And will that host provide
instructions for posting the pages I've created?

Choosing a host is up to you - depending on what you want out of your site
(you've indicated this would be your first site, so you probably want to
start out with a 'no thrills' host e.g. basic unix hosting - which could be
done through your ISP if they provide disk space for personal home pages.

Otherwise there's hosts like Geocities.com ("free", but with advertisements
of course)

Alternatively:

Do a search for "Frontpage web hosting" (etc) in your favourite search
engine.

Look in the phone book for your town/city/state/country for web hosts.

It'd be best to go for a server supporting Frontpage server extensions but
you don't have to do this - it just makes things easier for the novice in
many respects, and there's always this newsgroup to ask for help.

Most hosts would provide tutorials on the basics of publishing a web site
(uploading pages etc).

Hope this is enough to get you started anyway.

I've used the same host for 6 years with most of my clients and it is VERY
reliable. http://www.hostsave.com About $100/year. I highly recommend it.
If you need more features, try their sister company, http://www.valueweb.com

The host won't provide instructions on uploading, generally, but they do
have a Frontpage SETUP that you need to look at...you just need to tell the
server that you are using frontpage...its easy.

I notice hostsave talks about compatability with FrontPage 2002....since it
does not mention FP 2003, is it correct to gather that there are some
features in FP 2003 that won't function on hostsave?

There are no FP2003 extensions, so FP2003 support the same functions and features as FP2002 that
require the FP extensions on the live/remote server
