How do I filter within a group?

I am using Access 2003 and would like to filter records within a group. I
have a series of part numbers that may have a new record added daily. I want
to run a report that lists only the most recent record for each part number.
 
How would you identify the most recent record for each part number? Do you
have some sample records with table and field names? Could you show us how
you would expect them to appear in a report?
