How do I EXPORT an Outlook 2000 Contact Group?

I'm going to terribly specific, because no one can answer
my question otherwise.

I use Outlook 2000, SP-3, 9.0.0.6627, Internet Mail Only-
Security update.

I want to EXPORT a GROUP from my OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK.
My Address Book looks like this:

Contacts
- Group1
- Group2
- Group3

I want to EXPORT group 3 to an excel file, a text file,
or some other type of file that a mailing house could
use. The EXPORT function on my OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK is
grayed out. All my contacts were entered by hand into my
OUTLOOK ADDRESS BOOK.

I have attempted to "unshare" my WINDOWS ADDRESS BOOK, as
per all outlook help files, to export this information.
When I do so, all my contacts disappear from my WINDOWS
ADDRESS BOOK, making the export function useless.

again, I want to EXPORT A GROUP OF CONTACTS TO A DATA
FILE. End of story. How do I do this?

(I don't really give a rats ass anymore about Windows
Address Book, Outlook Address Book.. or which is to be my
contacts folder... just get me to the point where I can
export this data. )

Short answer: It can't be done.
You should have used Distribution Lists in the Contacts Folder, not groups
in the Address Book. Outlook does not use groups, nor does it use the
Address Book as an interface for data entry or manipulation. It uses the
Contacts Folder.
Not your fault. Most likely you were not aware of that fact because none of
the documenation in IMO owned up to that fact. IMO was a poorly documented,
downsized version of Outlook that mercifully was abandoned years ago.

ooooooooookay. Fine. I have imported all those contacts
into a distribution list. i repeat, HOW DO I EXPORT the
addresses to a text file or excel file?

And if I'm running the wrong version of Outlook for this,
what Outlook would work?

Look, no offense, but none of this has helped me in my
problem.

HOW DO I TAKE ADDRESSES, not email address, but all my
contact information, and just PRINT IT OUT ? export it
for labels, etc?

If its not a distribution list, and its not contacts,
THEN WHAT THE HELL is the point of the address book?

and if you cant do it there, then WHERE should I put my
contacts so I CAN do that? Is there a product that does
that?

You cannot export a DL alone, but you can save the DL as an RTF file, then
open it in Word and convert it to a plain text file.

Good heavens. It hasn't helped because you haven't asked a question clearly
or correctly yet. Look at your post to which I replied. You said you had
added your Contacts to a Distribution list and wanted to know how to export
the DL to a text file.

Now you're asking how to print out your Contacts from the Contacts Folder!
Completely different question. Outlook has a number of ways to print your
Contacts natively. Just open your Contacts Folder and go to File > Print.
If none of those suit your needs you can use a mail merge from Word:
