Hyperlinks within your website, have nothing to do with your "domain"
How your website is found when a visitor clicks
www.yoursite.com goes like this.
When a visitor clicks
www.yoursite.com your browser queries what is known as a Domain Name Server.
The domain name server converts
www.yoursite.com into a numerical IP address that looks like this:
http://123.456.789.123 which is really where your website "lives."
If you switch hosting companies, your new host ( or you ) enters your new domain location into the
domain name server system. 24 to 48 hours later it has propagated throughout the entire DNS system
so that anyone who clicks
www.yoursite.com is automatically directed to your new IP address.
To see how this works, open a command window and type in: ping
www.yahoo.com and then press enter
and see what your computer displays.
