Hi,
I created a PowerPoint slide show with music but cannot email it because the
server says the file is too large, which is 57.6MB. There are 6 slides with
music beds that match each slide in transition. The music is about 3 minutes
long and in a wave file. PowerPoint seems to accept only wave files, yet
these are too large. How do I compress the files, or save them for emailing?
And will the recipients be able to click on the attachment and have the show
play automatically? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!

Is the wav file converted from mp3? If so, try using CDex, which adds
RIFF-WAV header onto the mp3, and gives you a wav file that is the same size
as the mp3.
For more information, check out Quick Fix for mp3 here:

You can also use YouSendIt to send large presentations:
http://www.yousendit.com

To have the show play automatically, click File > Save as. Under save as
type, click on the dropdown list, scroll down and look for PowerPoint Show
(.pps).

God, maybe your embedded music files are too large, just degrade the sample
rate or bitrate to reduce the size and re-insert them. notice: only wav can
be embedded.

If it's not the problem of your audio files, just try to zip your ppt file
with WinZip or WinRAR. 7z are the recent popular format the zip files.

Besides, see an article of "Email PowerPoint Presentations" at
http://www.sameshow.com/ppt2flash/article.php?id=36 to try the suggestions
from others.
