I'm trying to email my contact list to my other computer. There is no "item"
selection under "Insert." I'm using 2003 professional SP1.

Of course there is.
Did you look in the Attachment icon dropdown?
I have no idea what you mean by "contact list" but chance are it isn't an
Outlook Item in the first place.

If you are using Word as your e-mail editor, you can't use the Insert
menu -- click on the arrow next to the paperclip (attachment) button and
select Item... there.

The best way is to
File
- Import and Export
-- Export to a File ..Next
---select Personal Folder File (.PST) ...Next
---- then you select Contacts as the folder to export ... Next
------- select a file name and location ....Next

Your Contact folder will be created as a .PST file that you then email to
your other computer

Then you
File
- Import and Export
-- Import from another program or file ... Next
---- Select Personal Folder File (.PST) ... Next
------ select the file that you emails and saved ...Next

If you have another method of transferring the data, like burning a CD, it's
better to use that method.

Wrong. The BEST way is to copy the original PST (with Outlook closed) and
send the copy or to create a new PST, drag the Contacts folder to it, close
the PST, close and restart Outlook, and send the new PST. Avoid
export/import whenever going from Outlook to Outlook.

Yes, I did look in the "Insert" drop-down menu. I'm trying to send one of my
Contacts to someone via email. From my computer, Outlook 2003, there is an
"Item" selection in the "Insert" drop-down menu, just as there is a "file"
and "picture" and "object." From my OTHER computer, which also has Outlook
2003 Professional, there is no "Item" selection.
