How do I dump Windows 2000

I recently loaded Windows 2000 into my pc, and not my
burner and modem will not work. When I try to burn CD,
system tells me it cannot find Burner. If I can't correct
it, then can any one tell me how to dump Windows 2000 and
keep old 98 without losing all my files.

Its probably a question of you not having win2k compatible software and
drivers for yr hardware.
Yr supposed to run the compatibilty checker before upgrading an o/s.

Alas, there isn't a compatibility checker for Win2k - that's an XP thing,
and a nice one.

To the OP: have you not tried to get the correct W2k device drivers from the
hw manufacturer?
 
Of course yr right, I forgot - long time ago - its a manual check
