how do I draw a diagram for a path analysis

I am preparing a presentation and would like to make a nice diagram that
depicts how three variables influence each other. A -> B -> C but also A
directly influencing C.

With each arrow I would like to add a so called beta weight from a
regression analysis. I have seen such a diagram often in presentations by
others, but do not know how to make it in Powerpoint.
 
I know my PowerPoint but, regression analysis is a bit over my heaD. Remind
me what a beta weight is. : - )

Hi Sandy,

We shouldn't go into the details of the regression analysis. Shouldn't have
mentioned that. It is enough to know that I want to put a fraction like .32
or .47 to each arrow. So I need a program to arrange both arrows and text.
Discovered Inkscape yesterday. That would do the job, but is actually too
sophisticated and thus quite complicated.

Maybe somebody knows of an easier to use program or module?

No, although that is a very good suggestion. It makes the magnitude of the
influence visible.
No I found out how to do it. Draw arrows with Autoshapes and then insert a
text box in which I put the fraction.

I noticed that such a box is not visible as a box in Powerpoint, but in Word
I only manage to get a real box.
