I'm thinking of using the below converter for my TV screen:

a.. Brand New & High Technology Universal PC VGA to TV Signal Converter Box

a.. Best for Laptop / Desktop / Notebook

a.. Simultaneous display on VGA monitor and TV

a.. Ideal for entertainment (such as play VCD, DVD, movies, Internet program
on TV or experience, PC Games on TV), presentations, documentation, etc

a.. Easy steps for connection:
- Connect the VGA input port of the BOX with the PC's VGA out-put port by a
VGA cable
- Connect VGA out-put port of the BOX with the PC's monitor by a VGA cable
- Connect the Video or S-Video out-put port of the BOX with the TV's video
or S-Video input

a.. Plug & play; No driver is required

When this converter is hooked to my screen, how do I watch either TV or
things from my pc?

All this does is display what is on your computer screen on a TV screen that
you connect this unknown thing to...a website site or product name would
have helped......
Can you watch TV on your computer now??
anything you can see on your computer will/should display on your TV
screen.....at what resolution is a question??

If I hook pc (audio and VGA) to TV, how does the TV know when to quit
showing me 75 ohm cable stuff that normally comes on? How does it know
when/how to switch?

For desktop computers a video card that has BOTH VGA and S-Video or
Composite outputs may be no more expensive and require fewer connections
(particularly the power for the VGA to composite "scan converter"). A
few desktop computer video cards even feature composite in connections.

Note that unless you have a high definition TV the image on the TV will
NOT be as sharp as on the typical computer display. High definition TVs
will not provide their best image when the signal is delivered through a
composite or S-video cable.

Typically you will have to press a button on your TV's remote control to
switch back and forth between video sources like DVD players, VCRs, and
computers (including any console video games).
