HOW DO I DO THIS?

Let's say that I have a presentation that has two parts.

The first goes from the first slide to the slide 8 automatically.
The second goes from slide 8 to a slide determined by a linked object
inside slide 8.

What I want (if possible) is to stop the presentation in slide 8 and
then link several objects to the slide I assign to them, like object 1
to slide 9, object 2 to slide 10 and so on...

My problem is that I can't stop in slide 8. How do I do this? (again,
if possible)

If I understand correctly what you're after, just remove the checkmark in
the box next to automatic transition on slide 8.

The problem is that if I remove the checkmark I have to click the slide
to load it, it doesn't load automatically. I need it to load
automatically and then stop when the last object loads. The only
options I have in the slide transition menu are "On mouse click" and
"Automatically after"
Those two options don't work for me. Is there another way?

I don't understand the problem. It works fine here.

As a test, I created a 9-slide presentation. It's just 9 slides. I typed 1
in the title area of the first slide, 2 in the title area of the 2nd, and so
on.

On slide 8, I added 3 objects -- a rectangle, a circle, and a triangle. I
added animation effects to them. The rectangle is first, and its animation
is "with previous," the circle is next and "after previous," and the
triangle is third and "after previous."

I went to the slide transitions task pane and selected "automatically after"
and put .01 in the box. Then I applied it to all slides. That makes all
slides transition automatically.

Then I selected slide 8 in the slide thumbnails pane on the left and I
unchecked "automatically after" in the slide transitions pane. I did the
same for slide 9. This means that slides 8 and 9 will *not* transition
automatically -- that is, once slide 8 comes up, the rectangle, circle and
triangles will animated in in turn and then slide 8 will just sit there --
it won't move on automatically. Same for slide 9. If I put action buttons or
links on slide 8 to get to slide 9, slide 9 will appear, but it will stop
and not move on automatically.

When I test here, I get slides 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and then the three objects
animate (I think that's what you meant by "when the last object loads,"
anyway.) and then it just sits there waiting for me to do something. Isn't
that what you're after?

Maybe the problem is your animated items ("loading objects") need to have
"with previous" or "after previous" animations applied to them so they
"load" automatically?
