I have WindowsXP

In the C partition I have the following directory:

C:/Documents and Settings/Robert/Local Settings/Temporary Internet

The "Temporary Internet" folder contains over 46000 hidden small files, and
I cannot reveal them with the usual folder options.

I want to expose these files and remove them, in case they record my
internet and newsgroup activities.

I could always do this with Windows 95 & 98.

Please help.

Hi

Have you been to some web sites that you perhaps shouldn't have to - bummer? Are you afraid that your partner may find out what you are doing - bummer?

Frank;

Right click the IE icon | Properties | General tab |
Delete Files button | Yes | (If you use OE) Delete Files button |
Check: Delete all offline content | Yes

Start | Run | Type: cleanmgr | OK |
Highlight: Temporary Internet Files | View Files button

You may have to have Show Hidden Files enabled.
From XP HELP:
[[To display hidden files and folders
Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Folder Options
On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and
folders.
Notes
Hidden files and folders will appear dimmed to indicate they are not typical
items. Usually, hidden files are program or system files that should not be
deleted or changed. To display other hidden files, clear the Hide protected
operating system files (Recommended) check box.
If you know the name of a hidden file or folder, you can search for it.
If you want to see all file name extensions, clear the Hide file extensions
for known file types check box.]]

Thanks; I'll get on to this and let you know.
