How Do I Disable Windows Messenger. It is not in Add/Remove Programs. It
is not In Windows Components. I am running Windows XP SP1 in My Second
Partition and it keeps asking to download a new Version. I did that but
after it installed it keeps asking "New". I don't use it so I want it
BYE-BYE'd
TIA
Bob

Go to Start/Run, and type: "rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection BLC.Remove
128 %SystemRoot%\INF\msmsgs.inf"

some of us don't need
it or use it and yet it
is a nuisance to get
rid of.

so in addition to the other
excellent suggestions provided,
i highly recommend to delete
the messenger folders and also
search your system for the
rootkit.
