HOW DO I DELETE UNSENT MESSAGES

  • Thread starter Thread starter BLACKJACK
  • Start date Start date
At the top click view and select layout, check the folder list checkbox,
then click on either drafts of outbox, once inside you select the message
that you want to delete and click the red X the top.

You might also be able to right-click the folder that they are in a select
delete all (not sure though I don't have any unsent messages)

I am receiving the following message in my Microsoft Mail each time I click
open mail or close mail:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'Dr. Marilyn W. Andrulis
([email protected])'. Subject 'From Trish Freeman (PERSONAL)', Account:
'pop.east.cox.net', Server: 'smtp.east.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 5.5.0 <Dr. Marilyn W. Andrulis ([email protected])> '@' or
'.' expected after 'Dr.Marilyn'', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Windows Mail

You have unsent messages in your Outbox. Do you want to send them now?

[Yes] [No]

The unsent message was deleted both from my Drafts and my UNSENT messages
folders. How do I get rid of this each time I enter or leave mail? It does
no good to "hide" it as it just returns the next time.

As the error message indicates, the email address for your recipient
is improperly formatted. It looks like you have combined the name with
the email address.

I do not find ANY messages in the Out box or the Sent box to delete. How
can I fix this error message, it is very annoying.

Go to your outbox and delete the message there. View | Current View should
be set to Show all messages.

That depends where they are. If you pressed Send, they are in the
Outbox
folder (unless already sent on their way). If you aborted or saved a
message you were composing, it will be in the Drafts folder.
