How do I delete protected files? (XP -home)

I had to do a re-load from the XP home version CDROM.
I created a 'Windows2' directory from the XP.. hoping that I'd be able to
copy and paste from Windows2 to Windows... These files cannot be deleted!
or can they??? I'm sure they can. HELP!!!.
 
Hi Len,

If you installed to Windows2, then that's what it must remain. You can't
copy it over to C:\Windows and expect that installation to work.
