I want to delete a database, NOT JUST A FILE. Someone please show me how.
All the traditional things like clicking the database name before I open it
and then delete or right clicking don't work.

Um, an Access database IS just a file. Deleting the file deletes the
database.

Sure, it'll still show up in your MRU (Most Recently Used) list, but it'll
actually be gone.

Your post is not understood as the file is the database.
Can you explaing more what you want to do?

An Access "Database" *IS* a file... mydata.mdb or mydata.accdb for example.
You cannot delete the database from within Access; you can use Windows
Explorer to find the file and delete it, and it will be *gone*.

Are you perhaps seeing the list of previously opened databases when you open
Access? These aren't really "files", just the names of files which have been
opened recently, and which may or may not still exist.
