Besides the index.dat in the History folderS, IE also remembers the last 25
URLs that you physically typed into the address bar (kept in registry) so you
need to erase TypedURLs for IE in the registry

Removing some or all entries is an easy registry edit.
For an easier, safer removal method, go to

and download "DelTypedURL." This INF file will remove all entries.

Also, within IE you can right click a history entry and choose delete, the
result depends on whether your history View is by Date, Site, or Order
visited today.
Tip: If you type URLs in via File> Open, instead of the address bar, they
aren't
saved in the TypedURLs key and you can keep a select few URLs in the
drop-down list.

Or, make sure that you can see hidden files/folders (Ctrl Panel> Folder
Options> View)
Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settingd\History and
delete individual items.

It may not be possible to clear selected AutoComplete items. It is often
necessary to delete the History folder to clear a few tenacious entries.
