How do i delete a file in windows xp NTFS

I have a file on my computer that i can't seem to delete
no matter what I try. When I try to delete this file, I
get the following message: "Cannot delete file: Cannot
read from the source file or disk"

Please help

Hi Chris,

If you've already tried to delete it and you are getting this message now,
try restarting your computer and see if it's still there.

I've had it where I'll delete a file and while it does delete, the file
still shows that it is there and upon trying to delete it again, the error
message you described appears. Restarting fixes the issue.

See what it does for you.
