How do I create subcategory lists for -x-mas cards from contacts?

I have a contacts and Business lists in Outlook and want to creat a
subcategory list for my christmas cards from my Contacts file and print them
on labels. I first created a Distribution list, saved it in My Documents,
retrieved it from Microsoft Office, but only the first name on my lists
appeared on the labels. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
 
You would not use a DL for this. DL's are only a list of electronic
addresses.
Most people use a category or a separate Contact subfolder to group Contacts
for mail merges.
