how do I create hyperlink to my email address?

Even when I follow the instructions to the letter, when I try to create a
hyperlink to my email address so that visitors to my website (under
construction) can contact me, my email address does not appear in the "To:"
box but instead it only displays my name. Does this have anything to do with
my mail settings? What am I doing wrong, can anyone please help? Thanks!

If your email address is in your address book with your name, then you name
will appear in the "To:", not your email address.

Try sending the email that is generated to that address (i.e. yourself) and
see if you get it. If so, all is O.K.
