how do i create a file on word viewer 2003?

i need to submit my homework as an attachment. I downloaded Word Viewer 2003
so I could create a file and attach it to my homework. Now I can't create or
open a file.

It's not Word, its Word Viewer. To "view" something is to look at it,
not to create it or edit it. You can view the Mona Lisa.

And to the OP -- I believe Abiword is free, and I know Open Office
is. You can find either one by Googling.

It's for looking at files, not creating them.
