How do I create a 3 dimensional chart?

I would like to create a 3 dimensional chart or graph in color. This
chart/graph would have various attributes or tasks ascribed to the axes, and
might have sub-tasks denoted by different layers. Imagine a cube, sliced and
diced.

Just use Insert|Chart. The default chart type is a 3D column.

Insert > chart then do you mean the type from chart>chart type 3d column
