I need to copy members of a distribution list to another distribution list.

Your first goal might be to rid yourself of distribution lists and use
separate Contacts folders or categories. However, one way to accomplish
what you want is to save one DL as a text file (open the DL, click File>Save
As and specify "Text only" as the "Save as type"), creating a tab-delimited
values file, opening that file in, say, Notepad and selecting the members
you want to transfer, using right-click>Copy or CTRL-C to put the selection
in your clipboard, then open the other DL, click Select Members, place your
cursor in the Members field and pressing CTRL-V or right-click>Paste to add
the clipboard contents to the members list. Click OK and the members will
appear in the DL. Save and close.

Thank you Brian - I'll give it a try

I copied DL's I tried this and it worked. However, I'm a bit surprised there
isn't an easier way to do this. I belive in an earlier version of Windows I
was able to copy DL's. Anyway, thanks, Brian, for the tip. --Tracy C.

Thanks. I have been trying to do this for some time. Although it appeared a
little complicated, it was actually quite simple. Thanks

Help - I am trying to follow these steps using Outlook 2007, when I right
click and paste the members names in it is asking me to check the names and
add each one as a contact ??

Not sure how to proceed ?
