I have a PowerPoint Presentation that I would like to convert to play as an
MP3 file on a DVD player. Can and how is this done?

I think you mean MPEG2.

Convert presentations to VHS or DVD video
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00156.htm

I think http://www.presentersoft.com/powervideomaker.htm is missing from
that FAQ.

Or google for PowerPoint to DVD to turn up various utilities. Make sure to
try before you buy, and try them on your file specifically. They do a better
job with some files than with others.

If your aim is to play your presentation on aDVD player, there is a way.
You can converter your presentation to a video file togehter with the audio
file in it . You need a conversion software to do that. You can use PPT2DVD
for it
1. iconverters presentation to a video file (mgep1/mpeg2)
2. it retains the originals in presentation
3. it has a built-in burnign program
