How do I convert a PP Show to PP presentation

Actually in the version that I am using you can no longer just rename it.
Nothing happens when you rename it. I use to do this in older versions of
PP. Thanks!
 
If renaming the extension is not possible, then open PowerPoint.
Click File > Open.
Open the PowerPoint show from there.
Then resave it as a presentation.
