I want to work on videos I've taken with my camera, but they load on my comp
as a .mov format file. What movie maker codec do I need so I can edit them?

Very annoying when trying to use the movies i take with my Panasonic Lumix camera. I cannot use them in FrontPage to put on my web site for others to see. I would like to know what to use to convert these files so I can see them with Quick Time Player, or other simpler programs. I use Windows XP on my cp.
thanks.

Here's some info on converting QuickTime .mov files:

QuickTime 7 Pro can convert the files.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/
(this would be the retail version not the
free one)

SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER_1
(the mirror download site is faster)

Convert .mov using TMPGEnc
and the TMPGEnc Mov Plugin

Free online converter:
MediaConvert
http://media-convert.com/

Using MediaConvert site:

In the File field...browse to and select
the .mp3 you wish to convert.

In the Output format field...select ...
WAVE form audio format (.wav)

Click the OK button.

Wait for the conversion to complete.

If you see a "Conversion Option" screen
that shows...Encoding, Sample Rate,
Channels...etc....just click the 'OK' button.

When you see the Download button
with the Green arrow...left click it...
choose...Save...

On the Save As screen...choose a
save location (Desktop would be a
good choice)

Click the Save button.

Good luck
