How do I convert (0.00) to 0.00?

Group:

I sometimes get a -0.00 or (0.00) when I subtract two cells. The two cells
that I subtracting have multiplication formulas in them, but I have rounded
the results to two decimal places (=Round(A1 * A2, 2)) before the
subtraction, and the two cells have the same amounts in them. What's going
on?

How can I prevent the -0.00 from appearing? I would like to have them shown
as zeros without the minus sign in front.
Is there a way to convert any cells that result in -0.00 to a simple 0.00?
Is there a global setting? I am using Excel 2000.

Thanks,
BobV

Go to format> cells> accounting> check the show negative
numbers in parenthis box

Hope this helps.

In my version of Excel (2002) there is no checkbox regarding negative
numbers in parenthesis.

However, I came up with another solution. I have created a custom format
(Format>Cells>Number Tab) that seems to solve the problem: "0;0;0;@"

Thanks,
