How do I consolidate outlook contact lists

I recently purchased a new computer and when I installed Office 2003 and
imported the contact lists, somehow I ended up with duplicate lists and
different contacts. I want to merge some of the contact lists into one list.
How do I do this without importing each individual card?

Importing is the worst possible way to transfer Contacts. It should be used
only to convert Contacts from foreign file formats.
If these Contacts are in an Outlook Data File, just open that file in
Outlook and copy or move the Contacts from one file to the other.
 
I have never worked with an outlook data file. How do I do this?

In Outlook: File > Open > Outlook Data File
