How do I configure Outlook 2003 as an HTTP Webmail client to Exchange 2000?

Jeff Hall

I have looked everywhere, but cannot find any information that would
allow me to configure Outlook 2003 as a HTTP Webmail client to
Exchange 2000.

I know that most people will upgrade their email clients before they
upgrade their email servers, so this should be possible. I'll be
doing a lot of traveling and want to test connecting in to my Exchange
2k email server as an HTTP client with Outlook 2003 instead of a POP3
or IMAP client.

Any ideas?

Jeff,

You need Outlook 2003 AND Exchange 2003 in order to use the RPC over HTTP
feature. If you want to connect to your Exchange 2000 server over the
Internet you want to use Outlook Web Access (OWA). OWA is accessed using
your browser (IE) and not Outlook.

Hope this helps.
