I have made a few videos with my webcam using Movie Maker and would like to
know if there is a way I can make their file sized smaller either by
compressing them or by making the viewing screen smaller, without losing and
of the content.

I am fairly new to this sorry.

When you try to save movie (ctrl+p), you can select which compression to save
it at.

It's on the screen where you have the option "Best quality for playback on
my computer (recommended)". Press the "Show more choices..." line, and then
two more options are revealed.

Go to the "Other settings" box, and go through the options. Whenever you
select one, the box on the bottom-right hand of your window will display
information about the final size in MegaBytes of your movie.

Note: The smaller the file, the lower the video and audio quality. It's part
of the deal. You'll have to try a few options, until you find the compromise
between video/audio quality, and file size.

Tell me if this helps.

rmaro is correct. Something else to consider is what the video your working
with will be used for. AVI-DV is a good starting point for best picture &
sound capture quality for a more managable file size and to preserve the file
for editing purposes.
Example: A 30 minute Digital Video 720X480 window capture for playback at
25MBPS at 25 Frames for a VCR recording will be close to 7GB on the
harddrive. The final encode you use (for email, storage, to cd/dvd disk, etc)
will change the window, file size, and format accordingly. Unfortunatly, the
encoding process that compress' everything to a smaller file size will change
the picture & sound quality as rmaro has noted. Sort of like working with
pictures, if you have a small compressed picture, when you enlarge it, it
will become pixelated and unclear.
