Hey. I need to restore my computer to its original state,
but I can't seem to find anything but Microsoft System
Restore under System Tools in Applications and that is not
what I need because when I tried it, it still contained my
files and folders from before the restore which I don't
want. Any help would be much appriciated. Thanks - Ian.
P.S. - I have a new Compaq Presario SL4110L if that helps.

Well Ian if you have the XP CD and all of the programs that you are using on
CD then just do a complete new install of XP formatting the HD during the
process. Then reinstall all of the drivers and programs.

IF on the other hand Compaq only gave you a restore CD.....follow their
instructions in the readme file

Did you check the manual that came with your new system?. The Compaq web
site has instruction on how to restore the system.
