I'm using PP 2007 on WinXP and Vista Ultimate and often need to compare two
different PP files (version 1 and version 2) for the differences. I've
looked but cannot find an application - any suggestions?

Thanks, this is working rather nice. Reasonably learning curve, I did notice
a few errors in the test I ran but they are easy to live with (sometimes a
slide that was in both presentations was flagged as an added slide), the
compare is limited to 250 slides thus it will be necessary to split the
compare into separate passes if you have files larger than this (some of
mine are near 800 slides). I'm sure as I learn more it will become easier.
Thanks again.

Thanks for this info. I didn't realize it was limited to 250 pages. Wonder
if you could print handouts at 2-up and have it compare those to get 500
slides?

Adobe Acrobat has a compare feature that does a nice job.

You can specify the slide range thus for my 800 slide set I first run 1-250,
then 251-500, then 501-750 and 751-800, somewhat of a pain but workable.

I ran a quick test using handouts - 6 up and it becomes impossible to really
compare the two. Example let's say that in the new file I insert a new slide
after slide 2. From this point forward you will get a mismatch, e.g. slide 4
in the new file is really slide 3 in the old file and slide 5 in the new
file is really slide 4 in the old file, etc.

You really want to print one slide on a page and then you can see what
slides were added or deleted. Adobe does get confused at times with what was
added or deleted but you can easily see the confusion and work around it.
