ANYTHING is easier than defibrillating Outlook, under ANY circumstances!

After furious head scratching, Russ Valentine [MVP Outlook] asked:
| If you reside on this planet, you have a dialing location. Just
| because you don't dial up over a phone line to connect to the
| Internet does not mean you don't make phone calls. Outlook assumes
| you do make phone calls and needs to know how you would like your
| phone numbers formatted so they can be dialed correctly. Accordingly,
| if Outlook does not know your dialing location you will force it into
| a state of deep confusion. Outlook may even fibrillate.
|
| Just play along and tell Outlook where you are. You did not state your
| operating system. In Windows XP you specify this in Control Panel >
| Phone and Modem options... It's much easier than defibrillating
| Outlook every time you have to enter a phone number.

|||| I have been trying to enter a name in my Outlook Contacts list.
|||| Every time I
|||| enter the phone number a dialog opens asking how I connect to the
|||| phone line.
|||| I am using a cable ISP, not phone lines. However I cannot close
|||| the dialog,
|||| no matter how many times I click cancel or try to close it.
||||
|||| I always end up having to press C715-423-6343<Ctrl><Alt<Delete>
|||| and close outlook altogether.
