I need to find out if a certain user has been loggin on
within certain time periods but I have no idea where to
look. This is on Win2KServer SP4 with Win2k/XP clients.

I've checked the security tab of the event log but there
are no entries at all. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks

You need to audit user logon events. Configure this for
certian users or all users. Once this is setup, you will
be able to find a log on this information under the event
viewer, security log.

That is good advice, but just wanted to point out that auditing is a machine level
configuration and can not be selective as to what users to audit. If it is a domain
then you need to enable auditing of account logon and/or logon events on the domain
controllers via the Domain Controller Security policy to see when a user is logging
onto the domain. For domain member machines you will need to audit logon events on
the particular computer that you want to see if an individual is logging onto. ---
