I have an issue that is really bugging me lately. When I
open up a new Internet Explorer browser window (as my
school's email program does for messages) it initially
appears too large and off center on the screen, such that
the bottom of the window goes off the edge of the screen.
To read the message, I have to move and resize the window
every time-- a real hassle when going through a whole list
of new emails. How can I change the default size and
location of a new browser window, so it will pop up in a
readable position to start with?

Caren,

Chances are you have too low a resolution on your monitor.
Right click on your desktop and select properties. Click
settings, look at the "Screen area". Drag the slider to
the right for more screen area. Click apply.

You will get a message that says something like "OK but
the screen may flicker and may not work for a bit, but if
it won't work, it will come back in 15 seconds". You will
have more screen area after the change. Well not more
screen area but things will be smaller giving you the end
result of more screen area.

Then try to go to the email and see how it works. It will
probably be better. But even if it isn't, double click on
the blue bar at the top of the newly opened window and it
will maximize and will be centered.

Try that, Hank
