You can adjust your color scheme so that the Accent 1 color is the correct
color, as that's what is applied to shapes by default. Choose Design |
Colors | Create New Theme Colors, edit the colors in the dialog, then save
with a new name.
If you don't want to bother with the theme colors, or if you need additional
formatting, then format a shape the way you want it to look, then
right-click and choose Set As Default Shape.
