This is a Windows setting, not an Excel setting. (And I don't believe you
mean "Toolbar", but rathe "Headers".) If you go to Control Panel | Display
| Appearance, you will find a setting for each Windows button and windows
property which you can set to what you desire.
No what I meant was the colour that appears on the Colum Header A,B,C, etc
for column and it also appears on the Row Header as wel. As you tab down the
worksheet the colour will be on the Row / Column Header relative to where you
currently are, eg ib one is on d20 in a worksheet the Column Header is Orange
and so is Row 20 Header ( or perhaps header is not the right word ). I know
it can be changed I just forgotten how ( short term memory ! )
Yup, that's what Anne and I are referring to. It's a Windows setting.

Thanks for the response, but it didn't work. It's some time since I changed
the colours on the excel s/s,but i don't recall changing it through window
control panel.
Perhaps I will come across the magazine that showed me how to change these
colours.
