How do I change my pop-up controls ?

Sounds like you may have other issues.
I do not get that many popups - of course I don't use the web interface for
the newsgroups much either.

If you have pages you frequent - you can "always allow popups" from those
sites.
 
I think I meant to say ,pop-ups are for the most part totally blocked and I
have to use ctrl to continue a major amount of pages even here .I reviewed
all my software were there were pop-up controls and disabled this feature to
see if it would stop this and it continues to plague me .

a) Don't use the web interface to the newsgroups - you'll have a much better
experience if you use a news client, like OE or Forte Agent, etc....the MS
news server is news.microsoft.com and you can subscribe to as many groups as
you like.
b) You can control your popup blocker settings in tools | popup blocker,
presuming this is actually the WinXP SP2 popup blocker and not a third party
one such as one getsin Yahoo, Google toolbars, etc....if you have more than
one popup blocker installed, pick one. I personally like the Google one
better, and disable the MS one.
