Some contacts email use have full name display, others the e-mail address.
How do I standardize the e-mail diplay in contacts?
How do I standardize the e-mail diplay in contacts?
Russ Valentine said:You can't. Each version of Outlook has done this differently and the format
is not subject to end user control. In Outlook 2002 and 2003 you can
change/edit the Display As field individually for each Contact, but you
can't change the default format Outlook gives the field.

field if it doesn't do what you ask? If you for example put an email
address in the e-mail field, but want it to display by first name only, it
doesn't always work. Is the Display as field not working as one would
think?

What is it that you need the Display As field to do? What are you trying to
accomplish?

sweetmans said:Well, I think you may have addressed in a similar previous question, but
I'm
not sure. I just want to be able to type a person's first name in the To:
field and have the contact information display the text that I typed in
the
display name field of the contact.....not with the entire e-mail address
following it. The strange thing, is that it isn't consistent. For some
contacts it will do this, and for others it displays the display name and
the
e-mail address following. It just doesn't seem at all consistent in what
it
is doing which is really annoying.
