How do I Change Computer Name

I have purchased a used computer with Windows XP home and I can’t figure out
how to change its name. I have changed the log in name and deleted all other
user accounts so the only user is the administrator. But in the Documents and
Settings folder there is a file with the old name. When you visit a website
and get a cookie it has a name in front of the @ symbol. How do I change that
name?

Hi,
If you're using the default machine administrator account (the one you
access from Safe Mode) you shouldn't be. It's better to create a new account
for yourself and give it administrator privileges if you want. After a
reboot, you should be able to login to either the default admin account or
your new account and delete the unwanted files/folders.
