If the cell is formatted with a date format, not Text, simply change the
format to one that you like. In Excel 2003, right-click on the cell, click
on Format Cells and Number, select Date and scroll the list until you find
"March 14, 2001".
PS: For future postings, please repeat or expand on your question in the
body of the message, not just the subject line.
Depending on the OPs' Region/Locality the built in date formats might not
include the required format in which case select Custom format and insert the
following in the field immediately under Type:
Open Regional and Language Options by clicking the Start button, clicking
Control Panel, clicking Regional and Language Options. Click Regional
Options tab then [Customize...] and choose the 'Date' tab.
As you work through you Regional and Language settings, check settings as
you go to see that they match your country and personal preferences. In
particular, the Language setting needs to be correct here as well as one
other place and in each program or you will always have problems with spell
check.
