how do i build user defined toolbar and custom button in xl07

i have a number of custom toolbars for my own macro buttons in excel 2003.
how can i transfer these to excel 2007, or build then from srratch. i need to
make custom buttons for delineation of the different uses.
 
You can customise the quick access toolbar - it defaults to the top left -
move it to below the ribbon if you like. Click the down arrow - more
commands - down arrow to show menu in chose commands from - default is
popular commands - select macros - that should show you what you can select
and add to your toolbar
 
I am a new user to EXCEL 2007 but have been using EXCEL for years. I use XL
2003 now. My problem is that I have 9 user defined toolbars with about 85
macros invloved. The individual buttons were built to describe what each one
does. I use these extensively. I there a way to "move" or recreate, if I
must, the macro buttons and toolbars in EXCEL 2007? If not I may as well stay
with 2003.

Hi,

Any custom toolbars you had created in 2003 will appear as a separate group
on the add-ins tab. If you don't like this, the only alternative you have is
to do ribbon customisation. Or, I understand there are add-ins to allow the
2007 to have the "Classic" look and feel. I haven't seen one of these in
operation so i can verify or vouch for it.

I googled this and found a lot of listings: "classic menus for Excel 2007"

Hi,

I tried "classic menus for Excel 2007", but you only get the Standard &
Formatting toolbars and you cannot add or remove your own customisations to
them.

The Office 2007 Ribbon (pardon me while I puke) is the reason I am sticking
with Office 2003.
 
I have several operations I change as an example changing the movement
direction
alternating between Down and Right. I have a macro that toggles those
commands and put it on my Quick Access tool bar by Using the Customize More
Commands then selecting Macro's in Chose Commands and all the Macro's I have
in Personal 2007 and my also copied in my 2003 Personal macros. Some of my
2003 macros had to be modified to work in 2007 but they are available for me
to use.

Another way of doing large amounts is to create a form in Personal.xksb
using an option box and the Select Case statements to do larger amounts of
special macro's then call the form in a macro to add to the Quick Access
toolbar.
