How do I automatically forward email to a public folder?

I would like to have all emails sent to a particular account automatically
forwarded to a public folder. I have it set up right now with a rule when
the email reaches the inbox it is forwarded, but this only works when I have
outlook open. I would like to have this forwarded regardless of whether or
not outlook is open. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you have the action set to move it to the folder. To forward it
to a public folder, the public folder has to be mail enabled. Then you can
forward it just like any other mail.

As of now the public folder is receiving all the emails forwarded through the
account correctly, but outlook is open in the background of a computer that
is always on, with automatic 5 min send/receive. What I would like it to do
is forward the emails without ever having to open outlook. For example, any
email sent to this account automatically goes to the public folder.

Yes, I got that part. What exactly is the rule that you have created? Is the
public folder mail enabled?

I created a rule within the account to have all mail forwarded to the public
folder. Therefore the mail must first make it into the inbox to be
forwarded. Therefore outlook needs to be open and a send/receive must be
completed. I believe the folder is mail enabled, but I am not sure exactly
what you mean by that and how I would go about checking it.

Forwarding to an email address can be done when Outlook is closed when using
Exchange.
Moving to a folder outside your mailbox can only be done when Outlook is
running.

Last time I'm going to ask;
What is the EXACT rule as listed in Outlook. My guess is that you have a
move rule.
