I have a document that requires monthly updating of
graphs, the file with the graphs is an excel file and due
to the way it is set up it cannot be embedded for
updating, so each month I must copy the graphs from excel
and paste into word as a picture,.. how can I set up the
template in word to auto-format that picture into the
space provided?
ie: I copy and paste special the pic into the word
table,.. but then need to manually resize and position it,
since the table is already set up in Word, is there a way
that I can set that block for any pic pasted into it to
automatically fill the space provided - doing away with
the manual formatting?

Hi Aiden

Try creating a table so that the only contents of the cell will be your
picture. Use Table > Properties > Table tab > Options button and un-tick
Automatically re-size to fit contents. When you come to paste the graph, do
Edit > Paste Special and paste as a picture.

Word will fit the picture to match the width of the table cell.

Hope this helps.
