After archiving my calendar, the recurring events remain. How do I archive
them and remove them from my calendar?

Recurring events are single entries in your calendar. They are not multiple
entries. So, until the recurrence period passes long enough to fall into
the archive criteria, they'll remain on your calendar. You can always move
the item yourself manually, but that will, naturally, remove ALL of the
recurrences from the calendar.
