How do I archive my old mail to make more room in my outlook?

Hello, I have created rules for my emails so they will go to certain folders.
Then i created the auto-archive rule for those folders so that my emails
will archive after two weeks. They do archive but they are still on my
personal outlook and now my mailbox is almost to its limit. I set them to
save to certain areas on my computer so i could go back an access them if
need be but they still appear in "archived folders" on my outlook. How do i
fix this?
